i love the 4th of july so much. its the perfect holiday.....really, just let me explain.

there is no religious affiliation or gift-giving tied to the holiday. if you live in America, then you are free to enjoy the day with no burdens. the holiday isnt pricy at all considering the only items you need to buy are fireworks and cheeseburgers. overall, it is just one of the greatest days of the year for everyone to enjoy.

this 4th of july was amazing. i hung out with ms amy macdougall all day as we bought fireworks from the stand on rt 1. please....let me tell what we bought....2 packs of poppers, 2 boxes of sparklers, 2 whistling dixies, 1 razzle dazzle!, and finally 1 space launcher. all of which totaled 8 dollars.....gosh i love girly fireworks. anyway, we headed over to ricks for a pool party and cookout around 4, set off our girly fireworks and ricks illegal fireworks, and then headed to KD to watch even more fireworks. it was so nice just driving there in ricks truck listening to country music with brittany and brianne.

yesterday was everything the 4th of july should have been and i loved it.

as for now though, im off to JMU orientation tommorow....YAH!

i suppose it's time to update this thing again.

since ive last written, i've graduated, gone to my beach week, and seen dave matthews =) .......not too shabby

graduation was actually a lot of fun. it was so nice to just have everyone together for a few hours. all the teachers were so nice and supportive....it's just weird to think it will never be the same. anyway, after graduation i headed up to BEACH WEEK with 29 of my best friends!! let me just say none of us got arrested or evicted and there were no major arguments either. actually, i think that we all love each other more after living together for a week. between the mardi gras party, the foam party, the beach, parasailing, and the hundreds of other fun things that happened at beach week, i wasn't really ready to leave.....but all good things must come to an end.

the day after coming home from the beach, i headed to bristow to see dave. let me say that his show was AMAZING! he played say goodbye for the first time in 2 years and he had a special guest, mr robert randolph. he also played too much, dreamgirl, hunger for the great light, grey st, warehouse, louisiana bayou, one sweet world, dont drink the water, where are you going??, american baby,......and oh yea.....WATCHTOWER! i couldnt speak during that show. honestly, i was so happy to just be there watching that band. dave matthews is amazing.

since then i have been working a lot, preparing for orientation next week, and just trying to hang out with everyone.

the 4th of july is this weekend, my favorite holiday of the year. i can't wait. yet, it is hard to fathom that it has actually been a year since july 3rd and 4th last year......

"it's a bittersweet symphony this life"

OH YEA....and my birthday is in 2 weeks =)

there are so many thoughts flying through my head these days. i wish i had the time and space to just clear my head and let it all go. instead, i think i will summarize.

im completely done with my high school career and i graduate saturday. i couldn't be more excited to finish with school and the boring classes and teachers, but the thing holding me back is the people, the community. i love Atlee and everything that comes with it. i loved cheering on those  nasty blue mats in the auxilary gym for so many months of my life. i will never forget the feeling of walking into the first home football game or first sockhop *when they were cool of course*. i met the friends who brought  me to Christ at Lake Champion over the summers. i met my friends who mean the world to me. my friends who help me roll houses and mud slide even when the rain ends. my friends who sit with me on school buses and stare at the football field and have a wonderful time without saying a word. i love each of my friends for exactly who they are, each of them with their particular traits that make me love them each day.

that is what i will miss,my life.

so as beautiful as graduation is, it may as well be the ending to everything and everyone ive known my whole life. its hard to think i only have a little over 2 months left of mechanicsville sunsets, time with my puppy, friends, and family. i love what Atlee brings to my life outside of school. im not really sure if ill ever have the words to express what it means to say goodbye.

ive never moved, this is all i have known my whole life.

right now im just not sure what i'm supposed to feel.
